Your words, 'When our storm comes—and it will—we’ll have to weather it and then pick up the pieces once it’s all said and done,' are so poignant. It's a reminder that resilience isn't about avoiding hardship, but about facing it with courage and grace. Thank you for sharing your perspective.
Thank you, Jen, for one of the most down-to-earth accounts of the impacts of climate change I've read to date. Holding you and your family in my heart.
I'm so sorry to hear that your family have experienced this Jen, and my thoughts and prays are with them. When crisis comes care is needed, but care is needed before crisis comes. Crisis is a natural part of the human experience. But the more we proactively care for the earth and each other, the less crisis become a permanent state and cycle.
One thing we have noticed recently over here in Asia, is that typhoons (our version of hurricanes) are now able to travel, thanks to global warming, a considerable distance inland after making landfall - before they would simply fizzle out on meeting the coastline, now they continue inwards - scary !
Thanks for bringing awareness, clarity, and compassion to this situation. I have family out there too and I’m sending love to all the folks out there.
We’re only at the beginning— the recovery, clean up, and rebuilding will be a massive undertaking and will take years.
I’m currently working with some organizations on the ground to figure out how to best help. It’s a nightmare. Now is the time to pitch in however we can.
This is weather. Climate change has happened the entire history of earth. There is less carbon in the air now than there was years ago. In fact, the earth is cooler now than it has been in thousands of years. CC is just a muse to control us. Period.
Super informative and nicely written to booth engage/entertain and inform. My brother & SIL live in FLA (Davenport) and so far they've gotten high winds and rain but no flooding. Fingers crossed!
In the eye of another's storm, calm is contagious.

Wishing your parents and neighbors some relief. Such a heartbreaking event.
Resilience is built through trials in life. What we can control is how we react and respond. Thank you 🙏
