Thanks for sharing, Jen. This line spoke the most to me: How you choose to spend your time will profoundly impact the quality of your life. Prioritize the things that breathe meaning and purpose into your days while letting go of those that drain the very essence from your soul.
I really enjoyed this article Jen!! I found myself saying “wow! I really liked that” with every new paragraph. I was enthralled with the way you weaved the essence of time into our lives but then once you got into creation and the values we learn from water, air, and fire that became my favorite section.
“Your intuition is your inner lighthouse, forever illuminating the path to your true destination.” Love it! This was an incredible article!
Also - thanks for subscribing to my substack as well. I haven’t been as active lately but hoping to get back into it soon. For now most of my time has been focused on the Everyday Therapist podcast that I have posted about.
Also followed your podcast on Spotify, as that’s where I spend most of my time listening to podcasts. It’s incredibly well done, you have a lot to be proud of!
Thank you for the kind words and the support. Our first episode was ROUGH (lol) but we have learned a lot with editing and building rapport with one another.
I love this: Time is the currency of life, the one strictly finite resource. How you choose to spend your time will profoundly impact the quality of your life.
I love the call-out, intentional or not, to the earth-based and yet metaphysical focus that neopaganism gives to the earth/water/fire/air elements of existence, of creation and destruction.
As for the section on Time? I’m reminded of a line from a James Taylor song: “Everybody say ‘Got to live in today.’ Don’t nobody know how.”
I didn’t even realize there was a neopagan aspect to the creation part! But then again, new ideas are simply old ones repackaged, so I’m not surprised!
Also, love the James Taylor lyric! I was trying to find the song that had that lyric but couldn’t find it. Closest I got was Secret O’ Life. Do you remember what song it’s from? Would love to hear it
I'm not Pagan myself, but various aspects of it appeal to me so much that I've included it in a few of my novels, learning more about it each time.
Re the song, it's on Taylor's Before This World album. The song is cut #8, "Before This World / Jolly Springtime." I don't know whether Substack frowns upon including external links in these comments, but the song is easy to find on Youtube. On the other hand, it's a good album to have in one's collection. :-)
Jen, your words spoke to me right away. "To realize your full potential, you must step outside your comfort zone." And I too hope that it will be my "catalyst for growth." I congratulate you on your book and for following your insight and your calling. Thank you for sharing this with the world. 😇
Just think I never knew who you were Jen and now after reading these wonderful words I hope you continue on your path. This is on my desktop The whole wide world is one long narrow bridge, a very narrow bridge, and the main thing is not to be afraid.
